AirBoss gets $9.8 m US military boot order
Newmarket, Canada -- AirBoss-Defense, a division of AirBoss of America Corp., has received the first order of chemical warfare agent protective boots from US Joint Services.
The rubber products maker will start manufacturing the order, worth about $9.8 million (€7.7 million), in the fourth quarter of 2006 and expects delivery 12 months later.
AirBoss received two contracts - for boots and gloves - from US Joint Services in 2005.
The boot order represents the first of the new contracts, which the company anticipates will run through 2010.
AirBoss said the maximum contract would be $88 million for the boots and $33 million for gloves over the life of the agreements.
