TNO tyres part of LMS simulation software
Leuven, Belgium - Engineering company LMS will integrate the tyre models of TNO's automotive business unit in its Virtual Lab Motion simulation software, under a partnership agreement signed between the two firms.
LMS will market and sell TNO's MF-Tyre and MF-SWIFT modeling capabilities as part of Virtual Lab Motion and users will be able to access accurate and scalable tyre models for concept studies.
The tyre models can be applied for the dynamic simulation of passenger cars, motorcycles, trucks, industrial vehicles and aircraft landing gear.
“A realistic and accurate tyre model is an essential tool in the iterative process of modelling, validating and optimising the vehicle-tyre interaction,†Leo Kusters, general manager of TNO's automotive business unit, said.
Willy Bakkers, vice-president and general manager of LMS, said: “The tight integration of the TNO tyre models in LMS Virtual Lab Motion provides leading capabilities to realistically account for the contact of the vehicle with the road in the most diverse and extreme driving conditions.â€
