Lehigh Technologies acquires German powderisation firm
Naples, Florida -- Engineered rubber powders maker Lehigh Technologies LLC has acquired German powderisation technology firm Microtec GmbH for an undisclosed amount.
The purchase includes Microtec's intellectual property rights as well as its research laboratory in Bobingen, Germany, according to Anthony Cialone, Lehigh chief operating officer.
Josef Fischer, founder of Microtec, has joined Lehigh as its chief technology officer.
The Microtec acquisition, Cialone said, will give Lehigh access to cryogenic powderisation technologies that will allow the company to expand its line of fine-mesh powders for plastics, paint, coatings and other markets.
