Lanxess introduces new NR peptiser
Leverkusen, Germany - Lanxess has added a new peptiser, Renacit RUC 9203, to its product range. Its field of application is pure gum mastication, through which natural rubber (NR) is processed without carbon black.
Peptisers are used in the mastication of natural rubber to optimise its processing. They reduce the molecular weight of the polymers by breaking down the molecular chains. In contrast to the mechanical mastication of rubber, chemical peptisers shorten the mastication time and reduce the energy consumption, with the result that productivity in compounding improves.
Lanxess' peptisers are based on 2,2'-dibenzamidodiphenyl disulfide (DBD) and are manufactured in the world's largest unit for peptiser production in Bushy Park, USA.
