Conti to provide mobile workers with WiFi access
Cyberspace - Continental AG has signed an agreement with Internet and WiFi providers to give its employees access to the internet and their own computer files while on the move.
The three-year deal allows 5000 mobile workers to access their email and Conti's internal services, via WiFi hotspots in airports, hotels and city centres, home broadband providers and Continental's own IT services. Altogether, it amounts to the world's largest virtual network, said ETT, one of the service suppliers.
'As a global company with a high percentage of mobile workers, having simple and reliable access to the internet is vital to our productivity and efficiency,' said Hans-Peter Schober, head of networks and communication at Continental.
ETT said it has provided Continental AG with a solution that combines the iPass Mobile Office, which seamlessly integrates access to the world's largest virtual network, including over 62 000 Wi-Fi hotspots and 3G mobile data, with local home broadband services and Continental AG's own corporate and third-party connectivity services.
