US Consumer Reports compares winter performance tyres

Yonkers, New York - Independent US consumer research organisation , Consumer Reports has tested H- and V- rated winter tyres.

In the H- rated tyres, Dunlop SP Sport 5000, Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S, and Falken Ziex ZE 512 were awarded top marks.

Among the V-rated selection, CR gave put Michelin's Pilot HX MXM4, Yokohama's Avid V4s and Michelin's Pilot Exalto A/S at the top of the heap.

This year CR said it extended its tests, "from 7200 miles to 16 000 miles, including more driving on city-type roads. We found that wear varied from model to model and did not necessarily follow tread-wear warranties."
