Harburg Freudenberger, Mesabi enter cooperative agreement
Topeka, Kansas - Rubber machinery maker Harburg Freudenberger Maschinenbau GmbH and control systems specialist Mesabi Control Engineering Ltd. have a new cooperative agreement to bolster their businesses within the North American market.
The partnership allows Harburg Freudenberger - primarily through its Topeka-based HF Rubber Machinery Inc. unit - to take advantage of Mesabi's knowledge in mixer controls and information systems and provides Mesabi with access to HF's research and development base in Germany.
The firms announced the agreement at HF's International Mixing Seminar, held Nov. 8-9 at its manufacturing plant in Topeka.
The two companies can tap into each other's customer bases for new business, combine sales and marketing efforts and provide better service for customers, said Fabian Schmahl, HF executive vice president. With Mesabi based in St. Paul, Minnesota, HF believes it can react faster to customer needs if control system problems occur.
The firms have more than 400 mixing control systems combined in the worldwide market, giving them the potential to service and upgrade those systems to ensure consistency and quality for their customers, Schmahl said.
