Trelleborg to close industrial tyre factory in Ohio
Stockholm, Sweden -- Trelleborg Wheel Systems is to close an industrial tyres factory in Hartville, Ohio and move production to Sri Lanka. The company will invest heavily in Sri Lanka, adding all the capacity that was taken out of Hartville, and more.
Maurizio Vischi, president of Trelleborg's Wheel Systems business unit said the total investment in Sri Lanka will be SEK 100 million, and a further SEK 30 million would be spent on closing the Ohio unit, affecting 200 employees. he said production wil be transferred steadily over the next two years, with the Ohio factory expected to close in the first quarter of 2009.
