Pirelli's 'cybertire' comes closer following licensing deal

Milan, Italy -- Pirelli has bought a licence from another Italian company to use, "A method and system for monitoring the tyre footprint of a motor vehicle, particularly for automatically optimising the behaviour of the vehicle."

The licence, from Fioraventi srl, contributes to systems that provide information about the instantaneous forces that exist between road and tyre footprint, and transmitting that data to a central receiving station.
