Finnish PM says REACH to be in place by year-end
Brussels - Finland's prime minister Matti Vanhanen has said he expects the REACH legislation to be in place by the end of Finland's presidency of the EU this month. Speaking at the Joint Parliamentary Meeting on the Future of Europe on 5 Dec., Vanhanen said, " I hope that, by Christmas, we will have added another success to the list, in the shape of the REACH package of chemicals legislation - important for consumers and business alike."
REACH, the Registration, Evaluation and Accreditation of Chemicals will affect all users and suppliers of chemicals throuht the EU.
