Goodyear to add eighth mixing line at UK plant
Wolverhampton, UK - Goodyear Dunlop Tyres UK Ltd is to add an eighth mixing line at its former tyre factory in Wolverhampton, UK. The company did not say what type of mixer, nor the capacity, and no-one from Goodyear was available for comment.
The Wolverhampton Plant opened in 1927, and became Goodyear's largest tyre making plant outside the US. In recent years tyre making has stopped there and the factory has been restructured to become a focused 'Mix Centre'. It also has a specialised retreading facility producing NextTread truck and bus tyres.
The Wolverhampton plant currently produces over 1500 tonnes of tyre production material each week for export, and employs over 350 people.
