IRSG to hold rubber summit in Bangkok 14 - 18 May
Wembley, UK - The International Rubber Study Group (IRSG) will hold its annual meeting in Bangkok from 14 - 18 May, 2007. The IRSG said the Government of Thailand has offered to host the 43rd Assembly of Nations at the Imperial Queen's Park Hotel in Bangkok on 16-18 May 2007. This will be preceded by the World Rubber Summit on 14-15 May 2007.
The theme for the World Rubber Summit is Global supply and demand challenges: what to aim for, and how to meet them? A field trip has been planned for 18 May 2007.
The Programme of the World Rubber Summit includes sessions on
- Natural rubber planting possibilities and the outlook for production
- Synthetic rubber production and capacity development
- End-use developments and perspectives for rubber consumption by type
- Global supply and demand balances for natural and synthetic rubber
- Futures markets and natural rubber prices
The official opening of the 43rd Assembly of Nations will be held on 16 May, followed by meetings of the Economic Committee, deciding on the Secretariat work programme, the Statistical Committee agreeing on statistics for rubber and the Heads of Delegation mainly focussing on administrative and management matters. The official closure of the Assembly will be 18 May.
