Gupta Synthetics to build Nylon tyre cord plant in India
Silvassa, India - Gupta Synthetics Ltd, is to enter the nylon tyre cord market with a new facility in India. The company plans to invest Rs 2230 million (€38 million) in the unit, which will make both and nylon filament yarn and nylon tyre cord fabric for the tyre, textile and furnishing industries.
The company issued a press release saying capacity will be 8128 tonnes/year for both yarn and fabric, with the yarn unit on stream in October 2007 and the fabric unit on stream in March, 2008. Gupta said the company will buy cording and weaving equipment from Zimmer AG.
