Conti expands mobile network to US
London -- Continental AG has signed a deal extending its international roaming network to North America. In October 2006, the company announced a deal allowing its employees access to mobile internet connectivity throughout Europe. That capability has now extended to North America.
In a statement, GTT, the US service provider said, "Continental has awarded a contract to GTT to extend its managed mobility platform to its North American Telematics facilities with Continental's global managed mobility platform provided by GTT earlier this year."
Christian Preiss, Head of Networks and Communications for the Automotive Systems division at Continental AG said: “Continental depends on the combined global expertise of its employees to serve its customers, so our enterprise data network is a key enabler of our success. We have been impressed with GTT's ability to design and deliver reliable managed enterprise mobility solutions on a global scale for our users. While we have used GTT for mission critical requirements in the past, this is the first time that we have turned to them for our North American requirements for professional travelers and other mobile users.â€
