Wacker opens two silicone facilities in China
HANGJIAGANG, China (Feb. 9) -- Wacker Chemie AG opened two silicone downstream facilities on 8 Feb. in Zhangjiagang.
One of the plants will produce silicone elastomers and the other sealants. Both units are operated by Wacker Chemicals (ZJG) Co. Ltd.
Wacker Silicones President Christoph von Plotho and Huang Qin, party secretary of Zhangjiagang City, opened the facilities by releasing the first batch of product.
"Along with our Shanghai Technical Center, the new facilities will help us to respond quickly to local market needs, to improve customer services in the region and to provide silicone products that meet international quality standards," von Plotho said.
Wacker Silicones supplies silicone elastomers for use in the automotive, electronics and household industries, while the sealants are mainly used in the construction industry.
