Trelleborg to buy Swedish construction products firm
Trelleborg, Sweden -- Trelleborg AB has agreed to buy Gummiteknik GTM A.B., a Swedish maker of rubber components for the engineering and construction industries, for an undisclosed price.
Balsta, Sweden-based Gummiteknik GTM -- which generates annual sales of about $5 million with 30 employees -- will become part of Trelleborg Engineered Systems.
Gummiteknik makes products using injection molding, hot extrusion and pressing of material combinations (rubber/metal and rubber/plastic), Trelleborg said.
"Gummiteknik is one of Sweden´s most successful smaller companies in its specialized area and has shown a high degree of expertise in developing complex products for various applications," said Lennart Johansson, president of Trelleborg Engineered Systems. "In combination with Trelleborg´s similar operations, the acquisition will also generate synergies in purchasing and production."
