Trelleborg Wheel reports higher sales, earnings
Trelleborg, Sweden -- Trelleborg Wheel Systems, the tyre and wheel business of Trelleborg AB, reported 13-percent growth in earnings last year on 4-percent better sales.
Tivoli, Italy-based Trelleborg Wheel Systems reported operating earnings of $33.6 million on sales of $435 million. Trelleborg attributed the earnings growth to better sales volume, higher selling prices and cost efficency efforts that helped offset higher raw materials costs.
Sales of both agricultural and industrial tyres -- the business´s two primary product areas -- were up during the year, Trelleborg said. The company noted industrial tyre sales improved in North America.
