Vulcan says Goodyear is top conveyor belt supplier

Akron, Ohio - Vulcan Material, the leading US construction aggregate provider has named Goodyear Engineered Products as a top supplier for its conveyor belting systems.

More than 170 plant managers at Vulcan Materials facilities evaluated suppliers based on products, services, technical support, value propositions and ease of conducting business. Goodyear's conveyor belt business garnered one of the highest scores and captured Vulcan's 2006 Gold Supplier Award.

Mike Braucher, Goodyear's marketing manager for conveyor belts said Goodyear has had its eye on going for the gold since the company began supplying heavy-duty conveyor belts to Vulcan in 1997. "We've achieved two bronze followed by five consecutive silver awards," he said, "but there's nothing like winning gold."
