W.R. Grace to open rubber membrane plant in Tennessee
Mount Pleasant, Tennessee - W.R. Grace Co. plans to go onstream with a new rubber membrane products plant in Mt. Pleasant on or about May 1, according to a company spokesman.
The 110,000-sq.-ft (10 200 sq. metres). plant will use rubberised asphalt technology to make such popular Grace products as Grace Ice & Water Shield roofing underlayment, Bituthene waterproofing and Vycor window and door flashings, the spokesman said.
Jordan Reduction Solutions supplied three Mitts and Merrill 13 Series Rubber Bale Hog Mills for bale and slab processing at the plant, according to Jordan.
The Mt. Pleasant plant will employ about 55 and increase Grace's membrane products capacity by about 40 percent, the Grace spokesman said. W.R. Grace makes membrane products at its Chicago headquarters and also in the United Kingdom and Singapore.
