Malaysian NR production declined in 12 months to Feb 07
Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia's production of NR in the year to February 2007, declined by 2.1 percent on a rolling 12-month basis. The smallholding sector contributed 94.7% of total production while the estate sector, the remaining 5.3%. Total production in the first two months of 2007 amounted to 231,158 tonnes, a marginal increase of 0.6% when compared with the corresponding period in 2006. In February 2007, production of natural rubber (NR) was 123,155 tonnes, an increase of 14.0% or 15,153 tonnes as compared to 108,002 tonnes attained in January 2007.
In February 2007, productivity of yield tapped was 147.1 kilogram per hectare (kg/ha). Productivity increased marginally by 0.9% month-on-month and 7.1% year-on-year.
