Baton Rouge, Louisiana - Lion Copolymer LLC has received national and regional health and safety awards from the US -based National Safety Council.
The synthetic rubber producer received the national Occupational Excellence Achievement Award for its performance measured against Bureau of Labor statistics concerning illness, injury and lost time on the job. The firm also received an Award of Honor, a Southern Regional award, for similar merit.
Lion Copolymer said it had a 67-percent improvement in its recordable injury rate in 2006 compared with the previous year.
