Richmond, Victoria -Â Ansell Ltd has acquired Brazilian condom maker, Fabrica de Artefatos de Latex Blowtex Ltda (Blowtex) of Brazil, for an undisclosed sum in a private deal.
Ansell said Blowtex has annual sales of about $12.2 million (€7.38 million) and has around 20 percent of the Brazilian condom market.
"Brazil is the fifth largest condom market, equal to the United Kingdom, with a youthful population and double-digit growth rates," said Scott Papier, Ansell's vice-president responsible for the consumer products in the Americas.
