Botswana government says tyres are sub-standard
Gaborone, Botswana -Â An official document from the Government of Botswana says the tyres procured by officials are sub-standard. They last only 500 km, instead of the expected 30 000km, according to Lt. Col. Moakofhi Modisanyane of Botswana's Central Transport Organisation.
He said the government has spent about P3 million (around €350 000) on poor tyres in the last financial year. The government procurement agency is seeking ways to resolve the issue.
