Rosehill Polymers boosts TPV sales into US sports surface market
Sowerby Bridge, UK - Rosehill Polymers says sales of its proprietary TPV into the US sports surface market have been booming in the last two years. The company invested over £4 million (€6 million) in pant and machinery which has resulted in a 50 percent growth in export sales of its TPV range of Infill and Inplay products to the United States this year. The company sends up to 28 containers a month to the US to meet demand for the products.
The company said it has developed its new TPV granular product to be used as either a bonded top layer for multi-sports and play surfaces or as a loose infill for synthetic grass pitches. It is now available in a range of 16 different colours, which can be used in applications including soccer pitches, running tracks, grid-iron football pitches and children's play surfaces.
According to Rosehill, its recent US export success is due to the fact that unlike many of its traditional EPDM competitors, it only uses a high quality virgin polymer in the production process, supplied by Exxon and Dow Chemical. This gives TPV improved colour stability, which is especially important for bright, vibrant colours demanded by international buyers, said Rosehill. The product was exposed to elevated temperatures and very high levels of ultra violet light in Death Valley in order to assess its long term durability in the harshest of conditions.
