Michelin shareholders confirm co-managing partners

Clermont-Ferrand - Michelin shareholders confirmed Didier Miraton (pictured), director of research and development and industrial performance, and Jean-Dominique Senard, finance director, as nongeneral co-managing partners of the company.

Shareholders attending the firm´s annual meeting on 11 May at Michelin headquarters in Clermont-Ferrand also approved 17 other resolutions, most related to altering the company´s articles of incorporation related to the appointment, employment, compensation and functions of top executives.

Michelin Managing General Partner Michel Rollier proposed the changes to the company´s articles earlier this year to allow for the appointment of additional managing partners to assist him. Rollier had been the sole managing partner of the firm since June following the accidental death in May 2006 of Edouard Michelin.

The new managing partners are considered "nongeneral," which means they don't carry personal liability for the company and its actions, as does a general partner under French corporate law. The terms of the new managing partners are limited to five years and are renewable.

Miraton, 48, has been with Michelin since 1982, primarily in research and innovation roles. Senard, 54, joined Michelin two years ago after more than 25 years of management experience at three other major French industrial firms.
