Cabot puts $10 million aside to settle antitrust claims
Boston, Massachusetts -Â Cabot Corp has set aside $10 million as a reserve to settle some lawsuits relating to antitrust activities. The company said in a statement, "As discussed in the Company's 2006 Annual Report on Form 10-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Company is one of several named defendants in an antitrust lawsuit pending in U.S. Federal District Court relating to carbon black sold in the United States during a specified period."
In an unrelated move, the company has announced a share buy-back, increasing the number of shares authorised for buyback to 5 million, from 1.5 million.
