Vibracoustic opens third JV plant in India
New Delhi, India - Sigma Vibracoustic India Pvt Ltd has opend a third factory in India to make anti-vibration components. The new unit has an area of around 12 500 m2. The Rs 750 million (€13.6 million) plant will make antivibration components for the vehicle industry. The products are mainly destined for export.
Sigma Vibracoustic India is a 50:50 joint venture between Vibracoustic and Sigma Corp. of India. The joint venture company will continue to operate a two-factory facility in Chandigarh City, around 250 km from New Delhi. The existing facility is spread over about 6500 m2.
Currently the JV exports around 75 percent of production of anti-vibration components such as engine mounts, bushings, tuned dampers and hydromounts
SVIL said the new plant has state-of-the-art equipment for metal treatment, vulcanisation and testing. It has been specially designed in line with global safety norms, said J D Singh, chairman of Sigma Vibracoustic.
