Mining trucks idled in Botswana due to OTR tyre shortage
Jwaneng, Botswana -Â A mine in Botswana has been forced to idle seven large earthmoving trucks due to a shortage of large tyres. Mr Kabelo Letlhoma, mine section manager at the Jwaneng mine in Botswana said at least seven of the mine's 22 dumper trucks have been idled.
Letlhoma said he did not expect the situation to be restored for four years. he said the mine is retreading old tyres and paving roads so that the tyres are not subjected to such harsh treatment.
