Songwon boosts phenolic antioxidant capacity
Ulsan, Korea -Â Songwon Industrial Co has brought on stream a large factory in Maeam, South Korea for phenolic and phosphite-based anti-oxidants, used primarily in the plastics industry.
Songwon said it invested $120 million in the factory and increased its antioxidant capacity from 20 000 to 55 000 tonnes, making it the No. 2 antioxidant producer globally.
The firm said it designed the facility with space so capacity can be doubled there in the future.
