Akzo Nobel opens polysulphide plant in China
Taixing, China -Â Akzo Nobel's Functional Chemicals business has opened a new polysulphide production plant in China. The company described China as, "the fastest-growing polysulfides market in the world."
The new Taixing plant will provide an additional annual production capacity of 10 000 tonnes and has created around 40 new jobs, said the company.
Polysulphides are small liquid rubber molecules that can be used in sealants to help save energy. The product-which has established a leading role in insulating glass-is being used by the Chinese construction industry as an eco-friendly solution to help improve the effectiveness of double glazing.
