Michelin recalling motorcycle tyres in US, Canada
Greenville, South Carolina - Michelin North America Inc. is recalling certain Michelin Pilot Power 2CT and Pilot Power front motorcycle tyres, size 120/70 ZR 17 (58W), that were made in France.
Michelin said the tyres have a possible defect in the tread from a manufacturing irregularity. No cases of pressure loss or accidents have been reported, the tyre maker said.
Related actions are under way in other countries, Michelin said, though it did not estimate the number of tyres affected.
The recalled tyres have DOT codes 6UCW 980T and 6UCW 979T.
US Consumers affected by the recall are encouraged to call Michelin's consumer relations department at (866) 324-2835. The company will replace the tyres at no cost through participating motorcycle tyre servicing retailers the US and Canada.
