Pirelli worker climbs to Everest Base Camp

Carlisle, UK -- Julie Killoran, an employee with Pirelli Tyres Ltd, has raised £3400 (Euro 4200) for a heart charity by walking to Everest Base Camp on the Khumbu glacier (5370m above sea level).
Killoran, a marketing anaylst in Pirelli's customer services department, walked for 12 days often with 10 -12 hours walking per day. Her route took her through villages and small communities; over swinging rope bridges and past Buddhist Temples often following the Khumbu river .
Killoran said she wanted to give something back to the British Heart Foundation after she herself had undergone heart surgery.
