EChA prepares backup system in case REACH-IT gets saturated ahead of 1 Dec. deadline
ERJ staff report (DS)
Helsinki, Finland -- For those companies who still have not pre-registered their products with EChA to comply with REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of CHemicals) legislation, EChA has developed a backup to its REACH-IT electronic submission system.
EChA said, "If the REACH-IT system cannot absorb the large number of pre-registrations before the deadline, ECHA will provide an additional pre-registration submission method in the final days of pre-registration." The organisation said this backup will only be implemented if absolutely necessary.
EChA reiterated its warning over the deadline: "The deadline for pre-registration cannot be extended by ECHA, and only a submission via REACH-IT guarantees the receipt of a pre-registration number and direct access to the pre-SIEF without delay."
According to EChA statistics, the best time to submit pre-registrations and use the REAC-IT system unhindered is at the weekend, when server activity is far below the activity at peak times mid-week.
