Solvay-Solexis to cut Tecnoflon production
ERJ staff report (DS)
Bollate, Italy -- Solvay Solexis will shut down both its Tecnoflon fluoroelastomer production facilities for 1 month in December 2008. The company makes FKM materials at its Spinetta Marengo (Italy) and Thorofare (NJ - USA) sites: This measure has been taken to face the massive demand declining and to avoid the creation of overcapacity.
Solvay blamed the over-inventory on, "the recent economical crisis, especially in the automotive industry."
