Fluid sealing conference set for Nottingham in October

Nottingham, UK -- BHR has issued a call for papers for its next fluid sealing conference, scheduled for 7-9 October 2009. This will be the 20th conference in a series on fluid sealing, and it is only the second to be held in the UK.
The conference will encompass all kinds of sealing devices from rotating to reciprocating seals, flange gaskets and the associated flange assembly techniques. Contributions are welcomed for all types of elastomer and plastic seals, packings, gaskets, metal seals, pipe couplings, rotary mechanical seals or other types particularly novel solutions, and assembly techniques covering: Cost of ownership & cost savings; leakage and emissions control; standards and legislation; health, safety & training; installation & assembly; seal life prediction inc best available techniques & computer analyses; maintenance inc mean time between failures & learning from failures; novel seal designs and materials; surface coatings, treatments & tribology; new fuels and lubricants inc the effects of additives and contaminants.
The event is cosponsored the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA), the British Valve & Actuator Association (BVAA), the European Sealing Association (ESA) and Sealing Technology.
