Tokyo -- A new forecast by Jatma, the Japanese association of tyre makers shows that 2009 sales in Japan are likely to be about 10 percent lower than in 2008.
In passenger car, the organisation said sales in 2009 will be around 43.8 million units in 2009, down from a predicted 47.96 million in 2008. In small truck the numbers are 5.69 million in 2009, from 6.32 million in 2008 and for heavy truck 1.09 million in 2009 compared with 1.258 million in 2008.
