ERJ staff report (TB)
Georgetown, Delaware -- D&B Industrial Group has purchased the assets of closed-cell sponge rubber manufacturer American National Rubber Inc. based in Ceredo, West Virginia.
D&B bought ANR's assets at bank foreclosure during December. ANR-founded in 1957-had closed its Ceredo facility, leaving 50-60 people out of work, but the Georgetown-based company plans to continue to produce and sell rubber products under the ANR brand name, a D&B statement said.
ANR's customer base includes companies in the aerospace, lighting, automotive, electrical, construction, sporting goods, HVAC and appliance industries.
D&B has been successful in acquiring and operating underperforming lower middle market manufacturing companies. The list of operations it has bought and turned around in the past 20 years includes Prime Plastics Inc., Rowe Industries, Multi-Tech Inc., Thermoplastic Processes Inc., FBK Medical Tubing Inc. and ER Tape, D&B said.
