Michelin Canada raises prices for truck tyres

Laval, Quebec -- Michelin is raising its truck tyre prices in Canada, despite one of the worst downturns that market has ever seen.
The company said, "Michelin North America (Canada) will increases prices by up to 5 per cent on Michelin truck tyres and by up to 6 per cent on BFGoodrich commercial truck replacement tires sold in Canada. This price increase will be effective on all shipments scheduled on or after Feb. 1, 2009. "
The company did not offer any explanation for the increase.
