ITC clears glove makers of infringing Tillotson patent
ERJ staff report (DS)
Washington DC -- The US-based International Trade Commission has cleared a series of glove makers of allegations that they infringed a patent owned by Tillotson Corp.
On 22 December, the ITC issued a statement saying, "Notice is hereby given that the U.S. International Trade Commission has determined that there is no violation of 19 U.S.C. § 1337 by respondents in the above-referenced investigation. The investigation is terminated."
The Commission began its investigation No. 337-TA-608 on July 6, 2007, based on a complaint filed by Tillotson. The complaint alleged that over 30 makers of nitrile examination gloves had infringed United States Patent No. Re. 35,616 owned by Tillotson.
After a series of claims and counter-claims, the ITC has now terminated its investigation.
Malaysian Rubber Gloves Manufacturers' Association (Margma) said the firms named in the allegations include Top Glove Corporation Bhd, Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd, Latexx Partners Bhd, Hartalega Holdings Bhd, Laglove (M) Sdn Bhd, Riverstone Resources Sdn Bhd and YTY Holdings Sdn Bhd.
