Vistamaxx grades for plastics impact modification
ERJ staff report (DS)
Houston, Texas -- ExxonMobil has launched grades of its Vistamaxx products for use as impact modifiers
Exxon said, "Adding Vistamaxx elastomers to polypropylene random copolymers, or homopolymers, can improve the impact strength of the compound down to -20 degrees C (-4 F). Even low additions of the elastomer provide increases in blend impact energy. At higher concentrations and temperatures above the glass transition temperature (-28 C/ -18 F), a no break point in the Notched Izod test can be achieved.
