Further big fall in Malaysian NR in November

Kuala Lumpur -- Malaysia saw a 27.8 percent decline in NR production in the month of, compared with the same month in 2007. In the month of November, Malaysia produced 70 195 tonnes of NR, bringing the January-November production to 1,015 million tonnes, 8.3 percent less than in the same period last year.
Exports also slumped by around 39.1 percent compared with November last year and by 18.7 percent compared to October this year. Imports were up by 18.3 percent compared with the same month last year and by 16.3 percent compared with October 2007.
In October 2008, the average monthly price of latex concentrate was 448.23 cent, 12.3 percent lower than in November 2007. The average price of SMR in November 2008 was 17.8 percent lower than a year previously.
