ERJ staff report (RD)
Singapore - Lanxess Butyl Pte. Ltd., subsidiary of specialty chemicals group Lanxess AG, has appointed Uwe Boltersdorf as site manager of the company's new butyl rubber plant in Singapore.
Boltersdorf will be responsible for project management and all third-party contracts as well as the supervision of all permits and internal guidelines, a 20 Jan company statement said.
Having previously served as Board assistant to Lanxess chairman Axel Heitmann Boltersdorf will also oversee the hiring of new employees, implementation of business processes and setting up the financial structure of the new site.
Lanxess recently cut butyl production at existing sites in Canada and Belgium in light of the economic crisis and has already postponed the construction of the new butyl plant in Singapore from January 2009 to the autumn of 2009. Boltersdorf will be based in Singapore from January 2009.
