Pirelli opens training centre in China

Yanxhou, China -- Pirelli Tyre Co. Ltd. (China) has opened in Yanzhou a Pirelli Tire Campus, an education and training centre dedicated to improving the firm's interactions with its customers.

The Yanzhou campus is the fifth worldwide for Italy's Pirelli & C. S.p.A., matching similar facilities at Pirelli's operations in Italy, Brazil, Turkey and Egypt.

“The inauguration of the tyre campus has further marked the commitment of Pirelli to play a leading role in the tyre industry, especially in the high-end segment,” said Giuseppe Cattaneo, CEO of Pirelli China, which operates a car and truck tyre plant in Yanzhou, Shandong Province.

“Apart from the tyre industry's OE and the replacement markets, the auto industry at large will also benefit from Pirelli Tire Campus's training program,” Mr. Cattaneo said, “and will be better equipped with the advanced tire technology and professionalism they will learn there.”

Pirelli Tyre expects to host 500 trainees this year at the new campus, including car and truck tyre distributors, key dealers and Pirelli employees. The training programmes will be extended to cover the auto industry and end users.

The company also anticipates training distributors and dealers as well as related business associates from other Asian countries in Yanzhou in the near future.
