Bluestar to demonstrate soft medical grades of silicone rubber
ERJ staff report (DS)
East Brunswick, New Jersey -- Bluestar Silicones will demonstrate its soft silicone elastomers and Silbione Skin Adhesive capabilities at the Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) West Expo, February 10-12, in Anaheim, California.
Bluestar Silicones said it will host live moulding demonstrations, exhibiting the ease-of-use and fast cure features of its Silbione RTV 4410 QC and 4420 QC silicones. Designed for skin-contact applications, these 10- and 20- Shore A products offer manufacturers the ability to achieve high quality life-like parts in just a fraction of the time of traditional silicone molding products. These products join a range of RTV silicones that offer the same performance benefits at softer durometers, such as its 4 Shore A Silbione RTV 4404 and its 28 Shore 00 Silbione RTV 4528.
"Now, with this new generation of high performance Class VI elastomers, softness and good physicals can be achieved, enabling a much broader range of applications in the healthcare arena," said Karen O'Keefe, North American Healthcare Market Manager.
