ERJ staff report (RD)
Albany, New York - Momentive, the performance speciality materials company, will exhibit its family of LSR elastomer technologies at the medical devices event, Medical Design & Manufacturing West, the company said 5 Feb.
The company stand will feature its StatSil elastomer that can provide built-in antimicrobial protection in or on the human body, Momentive said, adding that it will also be showing the LSR7000 range of transparent liquid silicone rubbers, CLS5000 and LSR 2740 TP3783 (LSR 2740) self-bonding, two component liquid silicone rubbers.
“With the heightened concern over microbial contamination on critical medical device surfaces, our new Statsil antimicrobial silicone elastomers can provide medical device designers with an added layer of protection, built-in, to help minimise microbial growth in or on the human body,†said Lynn Colucci-Mizenko, Momentive's global marketing manager for Healthcare. “StatSil elastomer is a highly innovative offering that can help designers of medical products for applications such as catheters, wound drains, and IV components,†she added.
MD&M West 2009 takes place at the Convention Center in Anaheim, California, on 10-12 Feb 2009.
