Bridgestone wins trademark case against Chinese tyre maker
ERJ staff report (DS)
Tokyo -- Bridgestone Corp. said it has won a trademark infringement complaint against Chinese manufacturers. The company said it has prevented Shandong Santai Rubber Co. from using the “Rockstone†and “Bridgesteel†names and won a ruling which prevents Hangzhou Bridgesteel Rubber Co., Ltd. from using its “Bridgesteel†brand, a name which closely resembles the famous Bridgestone registered trademark.
In addition, Bridgestone has taken actions to prevent the distribution of Shandong Santai products around the world. These responses included filing a trademark complaint in the Netherlands in October 2008 against a Shandong Santai dealership, Heuver Banden Groothandel BV.
