Bridgestone adds green stripe to F1 tyres
ERJ staff report (DS)
Tokyo -- Bridgestone is to make F1 tyres with green stripes for he coming season. The company supplies teams with four basic tyres of tyre: two with treads for wet weather and two slick tyres for dry.
The teams need an easy way to distinguish between the tyres, as they look similar, so Bridgestone is making the more extreme tyres with green stripes. The heavy-rain-use (extreme wet weather) tyre will be indicated with a green lines down the centreline of the tread while the softer dry tire has two stripes: one around each shoulder area.
