UK car sales down 22%; trucks down 51% and buses buses down by 38%

London -- The UK vehicle registration figures for February make gloomy reading. Registrations of new cars are down by 21.9 percent at 45 359 units.
Registrations of trucks are down by 51 percent compared to last February and down by 17 percent for the rolling year, while Buses and coach registrations are down by 37.7 percent compared to last February and down by 20.5 percent for the rolling year.
The one brighyt spot in all this news is large buses (over 8.5 tonnes) for which sales were up by 28.6 percent for the rolling year, although down by 20% in February, compared with a year previously.
