Automotive News Europe ends print edition
ERJ staff report (AN)
Automotive News Europe, a sister publication of European Rubber Journal, is halting publication of its twice-monthly print edition.
Automotive News will maintain an online European newsletter and a European Web site. European readers will be served with a mix of news and special events.
The scheduled European Congress will be held in Brussels June 30-July 1.
Automotive News Europe, which is based in Munich, covered automakers, suppliers and related industries throughout Europe.
Although circulation was growing, the 13-year-old Crain Communications Inc. publication fell victim to the auto industry's global meltdown. Hobbled by slowing car sales and production, auto suppliers - Automotive News Europe's core advertisers - slashed marketing budgets.
Automobilwoche, Crain's German-language publication, will continue to publish every other week. European Rubber Journal is unaffected by the decision.
