Freudenberg consolidates oil, gas chemical seals activities

Weinheim, Germany - Freudenberg Dichtungs- und Schwingungstechnik has merged all sealing activities for the oil, gas and chemical sectors into one global company - OACIS GmbH (Oil & Gas And Chemical Industry Seals).
The new company was launched on 1 Feb 2009 and is located in the new Freudenberg Process Seals building in Weinheim, Germany. OACIS GmbH will supply customers with the complete range of elastomer seals, flat gaskets, packings, seals made of high-performance plastics, and special seals, the company said 11 March.
“In the coming five years, we want to become the market leader for sealing technology in the oil and gas industry,†said Claus Möhlenkamp, member of the board of management at Freudenberg and one of the co-founders of OACIS GmbH.
Freudenberg said it is aiming to provide seals and services “from the drilling (“upstreamâ€) and transportation and storage of raw materials (“midstreamâ€) to their processing and refinement in the petrochemical sector (“downstreamâ€).â€
The company said it will make use of existing resources at Freudenberg and EagleBurgmann to build up necessary global structures. “We intend to be present in all important regions and countries and to implement our service center concept,†says Stephan Kletschke, managing director of OACIS, who considers the Middle East, the former countries of the CIS, and Brazil to be the most promising markets of all, the statement said.
